Kick Traditional Grocery Shopping to the Curb{side}

We are thrilled to be partnering with H-E-B to bring you this sponsored post. We hope you find it helpful as you mealplan and grocery shop too!

Confession :: Life has been pretty hectic lately, and I just haven’t had time to get to the grocery store. #MomLife, am I right?  So the roll out of H-E-B Curbside literally could not have come at a better time.  Let’s take a look back at my grocery shopping habits then and now, shall we?

THEN >> A “normal” trip to the grocery store…

After dropping my infant off with my mom, I head over to H-E-B. List in hand, and a little too much confidence, I grab a basket instead of a cart. When will I learn?

I make too many impulse buys, which for some reason include detergent {in a basket??}, perhaps a bottle of wine {heaviest basket ever}, along with whatever other items I actually came for. I’m the girl who is literally sliding her overfilled basket to the register. It’s too heavy, and items are stacked up to the handles.

NOW >> H-E-B Curbside time saver…

Enter the timesaver lifesaver known as H-E-B Curbside. I’ve heard of services where you can pre-order your groceries and go into the store for pickup, but with an infant in tow, it’s not as convenient. Staying in the car means I can keep the baby with me, which saves even more time.

H-E-B makes the entire process incredibly easy. Before placing the order, I looked up a couple recipes, loaded up the website, searched for the ingredients, and threw them into my “shopping cart.” As I looked around for what needed refilling, I noticed my dog’s allergies had returned, and threw something in my basket for that. Then, I decided to treat my frizzy postpartum locks to some TLC and grabbed a shampoo and conditioner off the virtual shelf. I also remembered that H-E-B tortillas are amazing, and clicked “add to cart” five times. I could have picked up my groceries just a few hours later, but life happens, ya know? So I scheduled the pickup for the following day. How convenient!

Once you place your order, you’ll receive a text message confirmation. I received a reminder the next day, with instructions upon arrival. When I arrived, I chose a designated Curbside parking spot and texted the parking space code so the attendant knew where to find me. Now, I’m not sure if this is a regular thing, but at the Aliana Marketplace H-E-B in Richmond, TX they gave us some cookies while we waited. Yum!

The whole experience took about seven or eight minutes. We didn’t have to get out of the car at all, and my baby slept the whole time. I’d say the $4.95 fee is 100% worth it.

Ready to try H-E-B Curbside too?  Thankfully, there are 21 H-E-B stores that currently offer Curbside service all throughout Texas. Find yours at H-E-B to You!
