Houston Area Christmas Tree Farms

Sure, artificial trees are easy…and pre-lit.  But there’s something about packing up the family and heading out to a Houston Christmas tree farm to hand-pick and cut down your very own.  And thankfully, there are lots of tree farms all around town to choose from!

Dewberry Farm

Take a hayride or ride the Dewville Express Train to the “forest” on the back 40 acres of Dewberry Farms! Search the forest for the most perfect tree, and then cut it down or have the friendly staff there cut it for you. Then, while your tree is being processed, enjoy FREE farm admission. Just be sure and check out their calendar for open dates and prices for trees before you go!

Double Creek Farm

Opens November 25th / Fri-Sat, 10am – 5pm; Sun, 1 – 5pm

Take the scenic drive up to Double Creek Farm to pick out and cut down the perfect Christmas tree and enjoy a full day of fun while you’re there too.  They’ve got hayrides, a playouse, a sandbox, and more.  Plus, food, drinks, and gifts are also available for purchase.  No admission fee for the farm is required! 

High Star Christmas Tree Farm

This choose and cut farm just down the road in Hockley has both Texas Grown Virginia Pines and Pre-Cut Fraser Firs.  And as an added bonus, they also offer nighttime hayrides!  Just gather a group of family and friends, make a reservation, then enjoy an evening hayride followed by a campfire for roasting marshmallows and making memories.

Holiday Acres Christmas Tree Farm

Just 30 miles south of Houston, enjoy a “country-Christmas” tree farm to help your family get ready for the holidays! With over 1,000 trees 6 feet and above, you are sure to find one to delight. As an important note, the farm recommends closed toe shoes and long sleeves for all. And for a little treat, bring along your own bag of marshmallows to roast over an open campfire too!

At Mill Hollow, they are just as serious about the experience as they are about their Christmas trees.  After you find that perfect tree, enjoy farm fun with activities like hayrides, trails, exploring, and more.  And while supplies last, they also have free hot dogs and fixings for their customers to enjoy also!

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm

Start a family tradition by choosing and cutting down your very own Christmas tree at Old Time Christmas Tree Farm!  Their specialties include fresh wreaths and garland, craft vendors, and seasonal treats for sale.  Visit on a weekend to enjoy pictures with Santa {$8 each with your own camera} as well as train rides, a bounce house, and a giant slide for a nominal ticket price too.

Spring Creek Growers is certainly not your average Christmas tree farm with fishing lakes, a farmhouse gift shop, games for all ages, and so much more.  Plus, don’t miss their Breakfast With Santa event if you’re planning a visit on November 26th or December 10th.  But as a heads up, reservations are required!
