‘Tis the season of festivals, haunted houses, and pumpkin patches! From trunk or treat stops to concerts under the starts, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the Fall Season in Houston. {And get multiple uses out of that costume for your kids!} We’ve got your complete guide to Houston Halloween events, and you don’t want to wait long to get started! First, we arranged events by dates, then we included a complete roundup at the end of places open all season long!!

Friday, October 21st

Truck or Treat

Location :: Grace Presbyterian Church
Time :: 6 – 7:30pm
Cost :: Free

The parking lot will be packed with decorated car trunks, gobs of candy, prizes, and lots of other fun treats. Chick-fil-A will be available for purchase if you or your littles get hungry, and there will be prizes for best costumes and trunks too!

Saturday, October 22nd

Tricks & Treats Among the Trees

Location :: Jesse H Jones Park and Nature Center
Time :: 3:30 – 7pm
Cost :: Free

Kids and the young at heart are invited to a free trick-or-treat nature trail with crafts, live creepy critters, games, hayrides, a critter storybook trail, and more. Proceeds from carnival-inspired games benefit Jones Park.

Magical Maze and Goose Bumps Haunted House

Location :: Houston Museum of Natural Science
Time :: 10am – Noon
Cost :: $12 / adult & $9 / child

Put on your best costume for the Grand Costume Parade – there will be prizes to be won!  Then, stay for some early trick or treating, games, face painting, and the family-friendly Goose Bumps Haunted House too.

Sunday, October 23rd

Trick or Treat Trail

Location :: Town Green Park
Tme :: 3 – 6pm
Cost :: Free

This free event will have fun for the entire family, and attendees are encouraged to dress in their Halloween best. While at the Trick or Treat Trail, kids will have the opportunity to visit booths and fill their bags with goodies from more than 30 local vendors. The event includes children’s activities, strolling entertainment, inflatables, and costume contests.

Thursday, October 27th

22nd Annual Harvest Fun Fest

Location :: Clute Municipal Park
Time :: 6 – 8pm
Cost :: Free

The 20th Annual Harvest Fun Fest provides families an opportunity to enjoy the holiday in a safe environment. Children are encouraged to play and participate in as many activities as possible throughout the course of the event!

Friday, October 28th

Trick or Trunk

Location :: Quillian Memorial Center
Time :: 6 – 9pm
Cost :: Free

Beginning at 6pm, kiddos in costume will search for The Great Pumpkin! From there, enjoy the inflatables, games, a costume contest, and dancing to Thriller. Children will be able to explore the Trunk or Treat Zone, and the bravest can try out the Fun House!

Katy Fall Fest

Location :: Crosspoint Community Church
Time :: 6 – 9pm
Cost :: Free

Another free event that features indoor games, a maze, outdoor obstacles, inflatable zones, a photo booth, and so much more. If all that playing works up an appetite, Chick-fil-A will be available for purchase too!

Saturday, October 29th


Location :: Sugar Land Town Square
Time :: 2pm
Cost :: Free

Full of spine-tingling music and interactive pieces, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is perfect for kids with this outdoor Halloween themed performance.  No tickets are needed – just show up and enjoy the show!

Candy in the Corn

Location :: P-6 Farms
Time :: 2 – 4pm
Cost :: Call for pricing.

Kids 12 years and younger dressed in FULL costume can trick or treat in the P-6 Farms maze from 2-4pm.  Be sure to stick around for the Farm Fun – including hay rides, jumping pillows, a cow train, and more.

Pumpkin Fest

Location :: Sugar Land Baptist Church
Time :: 11am – 2pm
Cost :: Free

Bounce houses, face painting, a petting zoo – oh my!  This fun fall event will have tons of candy, a pumpkin patch, and food for sale too.

Bridgeland’s 8th Annual Howl-O-Ween Fest

Location :: Oak Meadow Park
Time :: 10am – 4pm
Cost :: Free

Enjoy food trucks, kids’ activities, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating {for pets and kids!}, roaming entertainment, a magic show, pet product and service vendors, and lots more. There will also be a pet rescue group with onsite adoptions, and the pooch fashion show and costume contest are guaranteed to be a howling good time!

16th Annual Thrill at the Mill

Location :: 7 Acre Wood
Time :: 10am – 3pm
Cost :: $6 / person {18 months & under – free}

Play on the playground, visit the petting zoo, enjoy a round of mini golf, and zip down the rope slide…  Then, check out the vendor market, and purchase your tickets for hayrides, pony rides, pumpkins, and food!

Trick or Treat On Our Street

Location :: Pearland Town Center
Time ::  5 – 9pm
Cost :: Free

Celebrate Halloween with the Pearland Town Center, as there will be more than 50 businesses distributing treats. Dress to impress! There will be a costume contest, karaoke, an outdoor movie, and more!

Slimer’s Halloween Party

Location :: Houston Party Playland
Time :: 10am – 2pm
Cost :: For ages 1 – 10 years old, $13 {pre-sale} & $15 {at the door} // All others are free!

This is a great event for young kids and older siblings alike. The theme this year is Ghostbusters, and they have planned TONS to do – from a costume contest, crafts, and make your own slime.  Plus, they’ll have green screen photos, face painting, and fun raffle drawings too!

Tricks & Treats in the Park

Location :: Buffalo Run Park
Time :: 4:30 – 7pm
Cost :: Free

Enjoy an evening of family fun with a Monster Mile Fun Run at 4:30pm followed by a Tricks & Treats trail which includes a petting zoo, moonwalks, a pumpkin patch, photo station, games, and candy!

Something Wicked **Ages 18 & Up**

Location :: Sam Houston Race Park
Time :: 2pm – Midnight {Sat., Oct. 29} & 2 – 10pm {Sun., Oct. 30}
Cost :: $15 / person & up

Okay, so this one isn’t exactly family-friendly – unless your children are adults themselves.  But Something Wicked is returning to Houston the weekend of Halloween with performances from today’s most in-demand electronic artists, complete with the spirit of dance and haunting stage production design.

Sunday, October 30th

Halloween Spooktacular

Location :: Sea Center Texas
Time :: 1 – 3pm
Cost :: $5 Craft Fee

Dress up in your Halloween costume and enjoy crafts, games, and other special programs. Admission fee covers a fun make and take craft for the kids!

Houston Family Magazine Fall Fun Fest

Location :: La Centerra
Time :: Noon – 4pm
Cost :: Free

The 4th Annual Houston Family Magazine Fall Fun Fest is fun for the entire family with games, prizes, candy, face painting, and more!

Monday, October 31st

Moe’s Monster Mash Bash

Location :: Children’s Museum of Houston
Time :: 3 – 8pm
Cost :: $12

Don’t miss Houston’s ultimate Halloween party for kids!  The Children’s Museum of Houston will have tons of entertainment and activities, including a wicked DJ, monstrous characters, a Thriller Dance Party, glow int he dark slime, and of course – an opportunity to trick or treat the night away.  Mark your calendar and get those costumes ready!

43rd Annual Halloween Carnival

Location :: Deer Park {Jimmy Burke Activity Center}
Time:: 6 – 9pm
Cost :: Free

Put on your craziest and family-friendly costume and let the spirit move you to enter the costume contest, hop on some carnival rides, or enter the pumpkin carving/decorating contest.  There will be activities for the little ones including fun games in Pumpkin Town too.

Halloween Monster Mayhem

Location :: Children’s Museum of Houston
Dates :: October 11th – 31st
Cost :: Included in general admission.

Every day from 4 – 6pm, The Children’s Museum of Houston is hosting a Halloween Monster Mayhem with spine-tingling experiments, spirit-lifting activities, and trick or treating too.  Plus, during the week of October 11 – 19th, you can play Dr. Frankenstein and bring monsters to life during the Hair Raising WonderWeek, sponsored by Reliant.  SO cool!!

Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival

Location :: Blessington Farms
Dates :: September 24th – October 30th {Check website for full schedule.}
Cost :: $15 / person

After the devastating floods, Blessington Farms is open once again … and better than ever!  Enjoy new activities like the trolley swing, jump pad, and fossil dig.  Then, revisit your past favorites like the pedal cars, sand mountain, and hay rides.

Pumpkin Patch & Scarecrow Festival

Explore the 8 acre corn maze, pick pumpkins, stroll through 500+ lighted pumpkins in Punkin Hollar, and enjoy a mile-long train ride! With a special play area for little ones and tons of games and activities for the whole family, Dewberry Farm is always a full day of fun.

Dungeon of Doom Haunted House

Location :: Kemah Boardwalk

**WARNING :: This is NOT a haunted house for small kids!** The Dungeon of Doom is geared to those who are not faint at heart with scary scenes and different characters jumping out at you.

5th Annual Halloween Haunted House

Location :: National Museum of Funeral History
Dates :: October 1st – November 2nd {Check website for full schedule.}
Cost :: $5 / adult & $3 / kid, ages 11 & under {Get 1/2 off when you purchase admission to the museum too!}}

This family-friendly haunted house will make you “scared to death” while taking a light-hearted view of a usually very serious subject.  The haunted house is recommended for children ages 12 and up, and while children under 12 are welcome – they MUST be accompanied by an adult.
