More for Mom!

Being a mom is the BEST job on Earth.  Hands down.  It is a privilege, an honor.  Something that some women LONG for.  I had MUCH experience in longing for a child, so I don’t take lightly the fact that I am one, AT ALL.  But let’s face it…at the end of the day, we are exhausted, spent, and DONE.  D-O-N-E.  This past year I have had the amazing opportunity to transition from my teaching position to a stay at home mom of four.  With two in high school and two itty bitties still in diapers at home, I have found a few things that work for me to help make my day better, more efficient, energy-filled, and keep me “keeping on!”

More for Mom List

1. Pray/Read/Meditate ::

I always find that when I take the time to do this FIRST, things fall into place with much more ease.  Gives me mental and spiritual energy that I need to start my day off right!

2. SPARK ::

I don’t do coffee.  I never have.  SPARK IS my coffee.  It’s a vitamin and amino acid energy supplement powder that I add to 8 ounces of water.  Some days I have TWO.  My energy life-saver, for sure.

3. Eat breakfast ::

Choose something healthy to jump start your day and provide you with lasting energy as opposed to a quick “high” that sugary foods provide.  Usually if you’ll start off healthy, you’ll keep on going in that direction throughout the day.  I LOVE Kashi GoLean cereal with a banana or a yummy chocolate Advocare meal replacement shake.

4. WATER ::

Drink HALF your body weight in ounces daily.  For example, if you weigh 200 lbs, you should drink 100 ounces of water daily.  There are SO MANY benefits to drinking water, a huge one being to help you fight fatigue/have more energy!

5. Exercise ::

Put those babies in a stroller and GET OUTSIDE.  Walk, run, whatever works for you.  Plain and simple, exercise gives you more energy than you had before you started!  Not to mention getting out does you AND your babies a world of good!

6. Play, and I mean REALLY play, with your kids ::

Set aside a time that you don’t clean, straighten, organize, look at your phone, work from home, etc…and PLAY with your kids.  Nothing energizes your soul like spending quality time with your children.

7. Fit a shower or bath in DURING the day ::

That squeaky-clean, fresh-clothes feeling can do WONDERS for your energy level.

8. Turn ON the TV ::

Yes, I really said that!  There are some GREAT things your kids can watch when you need to catch up on things around the house or just catch a break to re-charge that energy supply!

9. SLEEP ::

Choose a bedtime that works for you and GET THERE.  Not getting enough sleep will KILL your energy supply for the next day, making mommy-hood that much more difficult.

We can conquer the world, fellow moms!  One day at a time…
