Recap #3 :: BIG Fun at The Little Gym {Friendswood & Kingwood}

Please Note :: This entire play date series would not be possible without all of our wonderful event sponsors! Thank you to The Little Gym of Friendswood and The Little Gym of Kingwood for hosting such fun classes, to Shipley Do-Nuts for the scrumptious treats, and a special thanks to our dear friend Momma’s Gonna SNAP Photography for all of the fun pictures below.

Well…..we’ve got two more play dates in our BIG Fun series with The Little Gym officially in the books, and we have to say – they were both so. much. fun.  We absolutely LOVED seeing so many sweet faces and fun-loving mamas at each of the play dates, and we are so very grateful to the amazing sponsors who help us put together such incredible events.  Remember that we have a few more locations to hit within the series, and we so hope to see lots of new {and returning!} faces in the months to come.  In fact, we might just be announcing our next set of play dates THIS week!  So stay tuned!!

The Little Gym 3 - 1

Just as we expected, our friends at The Little Gym of Friendswood and The Little Gym of Kingwood did NOT disappoint!  Both of the gyms were preciously decorated in hearts and all-things-red to celebrate the month of love, and we felt the warmth and joy as soon as we walked in the door.  And from there — the good times and serious fun didn’t stop!  One of our favorite things about these play dates is that they are the perfect mix of structured activities and free exploration.  We sing songs and learn about new pieces of equipment, and then off the kiddos go to try it all for themselves.  And since these play dates are specifically catered to active kids, it is the PERFECT set up and so developmentally appropriate for little learners to grow and have fun!

The Little Gym 3 - 2

All of that movement worked up such a great appetite {for the moms and the kiddos BOTH!}, so we were so very thrilled to have Shipley Do-Nuts partner together with us to supply dozens…and dozens…and dozens of delicious donuts!  Of course, we are raving fans of ALL the different types and flavors {chocolate with sprinkles, cinnamon twists, cream filled, yummm!}, but we have to admit – nothing compares to a good ole’ glazed donut.  Nothing.  And judging by the kiddos and their sugar-lipped smiles, it’s probably pretty safe to say that they agree too!

The Little Gym 3 - 3

Once again, we were over the moon to have our sweet friend Amanda with Momma’s Gonna SNAP at the play date with her trusty camera to capture all of the fun.  And guess what – we’ve been secretly planning a VERY special mini session with her that we will be exclusively opening up to HMB followers soon.  While we can’t give it all away now, we will say that it is an opportunity that you do NOT want to miss.  More details will be released soon as the plans are finalized, so be sure to follow both the Houston Moms Blog Facebook page as well as her Facebook page so that you’re one of the first to know!

A Little Tidbit About The Little Gym

{As we close out each recap throughout this series, we are going to be sharing a little extra piece of information about The Little Gym that you might not know.  Feel free to contact the gym closest to you for more information or for any other questions you may have as well!}

In case you somehow missed it, we just launched our 2015 Ultimate Guide to Summer Camps In & Around Houston, and we are sooo excited to have The Little Gym as one of our featured sponsors for it!  Their seasonal camps combine physical activity, gymnastics, and games with a splash of arts, crafts, and special LEGO® DUPLO® and LEGO® Juniors building activities…all resulting in some SERIOUS fun.  The Super Kids’ Quest Camp is exclusively for kiddos aged 3-8 years old and challenges them to spend three adventure-filled hours each day completing a fun, exciting mission.  While the Grade School Skill Thrill Camp is for older children aged 6-12 years old and focuses on learning specific beginner, intermediate, or advanced level skills while reviewing and practicing all-around gymnastic skills too.  Don’t want to wait until summer?  Most Houston area The Little Gyms offer Spring Break Camps too!

Kelly D
Kelly is the founder of Houston Moms Blog and has lived in this beautiful city nearly all of her life. She has a degree in education from Texas State University and was honored to teach special education for eight years to some of the cutest little kiddos you could ever meet. While teaching, Kelly met Cody – a tall drink of water and country boy to the core – and together, they fell in love, got married, and decided to start a family. In March 2011, they welcomed Hayes into the world, a silly but smart little boy with a story you have to read to believe. And in April 2013, their family was complete with the addition of Hadley, a super gregarious and oh-so-cute baby girl. Now, Kelly devotes her days to caring for her own little ones…and would not trade this new job of hers for the world! In her not-so-spare time, Kelly loves meeting up with her girlfriends for margaritas, failing miserably at Pinterest projects, and exploring this big old city with her two favorite little side-kicks in tow.
