The Ultimate Spring Gift Guide :: Graduation {Sponsored Post + Giveaway}

Oh, graduation season!  I am not sure about you, but I feel like my mailbox starts belting out the tune to “Pomp and Circumstance” each time I swing open the door.  Sweet family friends are graduating, my baby cousin is graduating, students I used to teach are now graduating……  STOP!  Hold the presses.  Students I used to teach are graduating?!?!  Goodness, I must be getting old.  But let’s save the THAT whole topic for another blog post, shall we?

For me, shopping for graduates is the. hardest. thing.  Now that I am officially old, I just feel so out of the loop on what a hip, young adult might like.  Um…a laundry basket?  Ha!  Those college kids just pack it all up and bring it home for mom every week or two.  So…a set of dishes?  Yeah right.  They LIVE for paper plates, I remember I did.  Hmm…how about some of their chosen college’s gear?  Little secret :: they bought out the university bookstore when they got accepted in.

So what DOES a graduate want?  They want memories.  They want to take home with them.  They want something to help them feel brave as they pack up the past 18 years of their life and venture out on their own for the first time in…well…ever.  And if they are graduating from college, this couldn’t be more true too.  They are about to say goodbye to the easy life and step into the dreaded real world.  And y’all – it’s scary.  It may have been a REALLY long time ago just a few years ago, but I remember those emotions like they were yesterday.  So how perfect is it to give them a little piece of love and support and courage from our sponsor The Vintage Pearl all wrapped up in a pretty box with a ribbon on top?  And to kickstart your shopping, I have a sweet little gift guide and even a fun giveaway below!

Spring Gift Guide - Graduation

1. A New Leaf Necklace

How perfect is this sweet necklace for someone who is turning over a new leaf in their life?  Get it personalized with the year they graduate, and I can guarantee they will cherish this piece forever and ever.

2.  Cufflinks

These cufflinks are just so, so handsome.  Perfect for the graduation ceremony themselves…or maybe a job interview in the near future.

3.  Leather Keepsake Journal

Not only is this journal absolutely beautiful, it would come in so handy for a recent graduate too.  Keeping track of important dates, jotting down notes, journaling the most incredible experience of their entire life.

4.  Wide Leather Cuff

This cuff is such a unique piece and one that has limitless options for personalization.  Keep it simple and just include their graduation day.  Give them strength with an inspirational phrase.  Or make it fun and incorporate their new mascot.  {Eat ’em up, Cats!}

5.  Home State Love Necklace

If they are leaving for college out of state, then the graduate will NEED this necklace to take with them – because we all know that no matter where you end up, Texas will always have your heart.

6.  Chunky Circle Keychain

 This is another one where the personalization opportunities are limitless.  But if they are going in to the military, how beautifully perfect is the quote written right there on the sample?  Gets me choked up just thinking about it.

OF COURSE, we cannot forget about the teachers who make this whole graduation thing a possibility.  Whether your child is graduating from preschool or high school or even college, the teachers who helped them get there deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated too!  {Remember, I used to be a teacher myself – so I know how much time and tears go into each school year!}  So I can’t wrap up this post without a gift idea for them, and I think this Apple for the Teacher Necklace from The Vintage Pearl just might be the sweetest gift I have ever seen.  My kiddos are still little, but I love pooling money together with the other kids in their class and getting the teacher a really special little something to say thank you at the end of the year.  And this necklace definitely takes the cake this year!

Kelly is the founder of Houston Moms Blog and has lived in this beautiful city nearly all of her life. She has a degree in education from Texas State University and was honored to teach special education for eight years to some of the cutest little kiddos you could ever meet. While teaching, Kelly met Cody – a tall drink of water and country boy to the core – and together, they fell in love, got married, and decided to start a family. In March 2011, they welcomed Hayes into the world, a silly but smart little boy with a story you have to read to believe. And in April 2013, their family was complete with the addition of Hadley, a super gregarious and oh-so-cute baby girl. Now, Kelly devotes her days to caring for her own little ones…and would not trade this new job of hers for the world! In her not-so-spare time, Kelly loves meeting up with her girlfriends for margaritas, failing miserably at Pinterest projects, and exploring this big old city with her two favorite little side-kicks in tow.
