With the Thanksgiving holiday around the corner, I put together a few crafts to get me into the holiday spirit. I know, a lot of people have started putting out Christmas decorations already and have moved straight on to Christmas. But, if you’re feeling crafty and looking for some easy DIY Thanksgiving crafts to do for the remainder of fall, I’ve got some ideas for you.
Decorative Wood Plank
Supplies Needed::
- Wood Plank
- Thanksgiving Stencils
- Tempera paint or some type of wood paint
- Fine point paint brush
Both the wood plank and stencils are reasonably priced and delivered quickly through Amazon Prime. I already had a stack of tempera paint at home so I used that to create my colors.
Instructions::
I did a few practice rounds before painting directly onto the wood plank.
After I practiced a few times, I used painters tape to hold down the stenciling on the board exactly where I wanted it. Next, I mixed my colors to get the color variations of brown, green and orange that I wanted. And then I carefully painted on the board.
After I painted, I let it dry completely in the sun before removing the stencil.
I’m planning to use this as décor piece sitting on my entry table, but also think it would make a cute and festive Thanksgiving charcuterie board.
This was fun and one of the easiest to make of the DIY Thanksgiving crafts. I’m really happy with how it turned out!
DIY Toilet Paper Pumpkin
I’ve seen this idea on Pinterest and always wanted to try making them myself. However, I got a little giggle out of it when I first thought about making these. You know, because back in March toilet paper was such a hot commodity, and nobody would have ever thought about making pumpkins out of toilet paper. But here I am. I chose this black and white checkered buffalo plaid.
Supplies Needed::
- Roll of mega roll of toilet
- 18-20 inch Favorite fall/Thanksgiving fabric
- Green/orange ribbon or yarn
- 4 inch branch or cinnamon sticks
Instructions::
- Unroll your toilet paper roll 10-15 times to get a loose and rounder look and then re-wrap
- Lay out the fabric and place toilet paper roll in the middle
- Tuck the fabric into the center
- Tie the ribbon around the branch/cinnamon stick and stuff it into the center
These were super easy to make and they turned out cute!
I hope you’ll try these DIY Thanksgiving crafts and love them just as much as I do. Would love to hear if you’ve tried them out. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
