5 Things You May Not Know About Splashway Water Park

We are thrilled to be partnering with Splashway Water Park to bring you this sponsored post. We hope you and your family venture out and discover this local gem over the summer too!

Y’all. Summer is almost here, and I personally am counting down the days. One of my favorite things to do is to brainstorm all of the fantastic activities and trips we will take this summer, and lawd knows… it will be HOT as all get out, so anything water-related is high on my list. In fact, topping that list is Splashway Water Park! This gem is located just about an hour west of Katy/West Houston — close enough to be convenient for a day trip, but far enough away that it feels like a special event. So in my dedicated “what are we going to do this summer?” research, I found these awesome things {and some hacks!} you may not know about Splashway, especially if you are new to the Houston area. Ready? Go!

1} Family Ties

Any chance I’m given, I will support family-owned businesses when provided the opportunity. Splashway is family-owned and operated which shines through in their day-to-day operations. When you visit, they treat you as such. From their specially themed weekends to “Ray”, their sun-shining mascot, this place screams wholesome fun for the young and young at heart. Oh, and speaking of Ray… Mom Hack #1 :: Join Ray’s club for FREE and save 10% on all of your online reservations, plus get a free gift on your birthday, AND get exclusive discounts. 2} Southern Hospitality

Well, this just deserves a big ole “Y’all!” Splashway is a shining example of what true southern hospitality and charm is all about. Be ready to settle in, enjoy s’mores, campfires, and crafts in their facility. What’s more? Mom Hack #2 :: Leave the gear at home and don’t worry about cash for parking because their tubes, life vests, and parking are FREE. When you are spending money for a day {or night} away, anything free is golden in my book. Does it get any more generous and southern than that?

3} State of the Art Cleanliness

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I think waterpark, I have <ahem> concerns about just overall germiness. Well, with the family pride that echoes behind everything Splashway does, they have installed the premier sanitation and cleanliness system throughout all of their slides, lazy river, and pools. All you need to do is pack the sunscreen and swimsuits and leave the rest of your cares behind, knowing that clean, safe fun is their number one priority! Mom Hack #3 :: To protect your little one’s locks from a day full of swimming, spray their hair with leave-in conditioner before heading to the park.  The protective barrier will prevent the chlorine from getting to the hair!

4} You Can Camp, Too!

That’s right! I was shocked to find this out. The Splashway RV & Campgrounds not only offer tent camping, but also full hook ups with those of you with recreational vehicles. Of course, being the “luxury camper” type that I am, I’m personally more game for their cabin and cottage rentals. Mom Hack #4 :: Don’t want to pack the kiddos up in wet suits and make the drive back to Houston? Make it a full weekend of waterpark fun {just a short walk away!} and then head to your campsite for fishing, biking, hiking trails, pedal boats, and more to round out the day. A perfect way to exhaust the kiddos while creating precious memories that will last a lifetime.

5} Delicious Food AND Picnics

No, really. The food options here are enormous, and best of all, family budget-friendly. Indulge in everything from their made to order hamburgers or grab the signature “Chip-wreck Nachos.”  Need something sweet after all that swimming and lazy-rivering? I’m partial to the chocolate taco, or better yet, the full selection of Dippin’ Dots. I mean, who doesn’t feel like a kid again when eating those delicious morsels? Splashway’s food selections are conveniently located around the park with Ray’s Cafe near the entrance and Mono’s by the Kids of the Caribbean attraction. Okay, but I saved the best for last… Mom Hack #5 :: You can bring in your own picnic! Yes! Splashway invites you to bring your coolers, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages into the park. They will even provide you with stationary grills for you to fire up your own meal. C’mon, that’s southern hospitality at it’s finest, am I right? {See #2!}

  1. What a great story and thank you for your insight. I live here in Sheridan and really love what the owners have done with this water park. Very family oriented.

  2. Have had a Splashway Season Pass for 12 years now. We live in Weimar so not too far away. We like to go everyday there is sunshine!! It is the CLEANEST place to take your family. Always has been. The family that runs the place are the hardest workers there. They have no problem going out and walking the grounds constantly looking for things that need to be cleaned and attended to and do it themselves instead of waiting for an employee to come take care of it. So very friendly also. Every year they have s new attraction. They tolerate no cussing, vulgarity, drinking, unruly behavior. NONE. It is always a happy and safe environment.
