Cruising for Christmas Lights {…with a spin!}

This holiday season, Houston Moms Blog was invited to take a ride around town with Attractions With A Spin to enjoy the holiday lights through the mansions in River Oaks.  It was a perfect time to get together, enjoy the lights, sing a bunch of songs, and drink hot chocolate.

I’m a native Houstonian, so I love to drive around this time of year and look at the lights in all sorts of neighborhoods.  But they really do it big in River Oaks, and Attractions With A Spin is such a great way for a group to get together and see all the sights in a fun and interactive way.

Attractions with a Spin

We all met up at St. John the Divine shortly after sunset, and we were blown away by Attraction with a Spin’s state of the art party bike that was all decked out in decorations and waiting for us.  There are plenty of seats and a bench, so there was ample room for us to sit and be comfortable.  And our hostess for the night even stashed our bags {we’re moms, so there were multiple bags} above the bar so we didn’t have to worry about anything going overboard.  In the middle of the bike, there is a fun little bar area with room for a keg and tap – but we opted for the hot chocolate instead.  Each seat came with a cup holder and the bar space was wide enough to hold my phone, camera, and all the cookies I was hoarding.  Awesome!  And while we certainly didn’t need them this chilly winter night, there’s also misters and fans to keep you cool for trips between March and November when the heat gets brutal.

Our hostess also hooked up the sound system to play some Christmas carols and put on a brave face when we all belted out Frozen’s “Let It Go” and the best Christmas song ever sang, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.   She even lead us in a friendly game of pass the candy canes.  I say “friendly”…but the right side totally kicked the left side’s butt.  Just saying.  And our driver was also sweet enough to let us have a few breaks and snap a few million shots in front of some houses {I mean we are bloggers}.  I generally shy away from anything remotely close to exercise, but I had a great time and wasn’t too sore afterwards.  Plus, with all the fun you’re having, you really don’t mind the peddling.

Of course, we think that Attractions with a Spin makes such a fun way to check out Christmas lights, but we are so looking forward to all that they have beyond their guided light tours too.  Sightseeing in Downtown, pub crawls in Midtown, birthday parties {for adults AND kids}, and progressive dinners on Washington…  The options are limitless and there is SO much fun to be had.  Connect with them below to stay in touch and book a ride soon!

Breonna was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is recently married to Tyrone, a graphic designer. They currently reside on the West Side of this great city. A big fan of movies, books, photography, and Starbucks, she currently finds herself knee-deep in the throes of being a mommy to Addy {Feb 2011}. Breonna spends the typical 9-5 doing yadda yadda yadda at her job {yes, it’s that nondescript and uninteresting}. She started blogging as a way to do movie reviews, but that gave way to pregnancy blogging. She eventually landed her own space of the internet on BreWrites as well as on Twitter and Instagram {@brewrites} where she talks about everything from the sassiness of her child, to the most recent concert tickets she got her hands on, to the occasional piece of short fiction.
