Back to School Gifts {…yes, it’s a thing}

As if back to school season isn’t stressful enough, the Pinterest moms have decided to complicate it that much more. Someone out in the inter webs with more free time than you and me created adorable back to school gifts, and now they are a thing. And they’re a thing you probably need to do to make a great first impression on your child’s new teacher.

The good news is that these gifts are pretty simple. Think homemade cookies, a Starbucks gift card, a bottle of lotion, a coffee mug filled with candy. Jazz it up with a cute note, and you are done. If you are feeling extra generous, spring for a mani/pedi gift certificate, which is always a huge hit with teachers.

To all of you overachieving moms out there {yes…you!} don’t go all out on the back to school gift. Start small. If you knock it out of the park for back to school, you’ll have to outdo yourself for Christmas, birthday, and end of year. And really, who has time for that?

Here is a simple gift for your child’s teachers that is easy to put together. Even my non-crafty mom friends can handle this one. It should take you less than an hour to complete, and if you have an older child, rope them in to help you out.

Step Oneprint this adorable printable {or make your own, if that’s your thing}

Step Two – make your favorite cookies; break and bake cookies are totally acceptable

Step Three – cut the printable out and glue it onto a box, bag, or tin

Step Four – place cookies into container

Hope you all have a great back to school season and enjoy making these small gifts for your teachers!

Brittney F
Originally from Louisiana, Brittney has called Houston home for nearly all her life. Brittney graduated from Houston Baptist University where she was a member of Phi Mu and a four-year cheerleader. It didn’t take long after graduation for her to meet her husband Jeremy on the sand volleyball courts at Memorial Park. She jokes that when marrying Jeremy, she also married LSU because she tied the knot with the most passionate Tiger football fan. Many weekends in the fall, they can be found in the shadows of Tiger Stadium at their big family tailgating party. Brittney has a Master's Degree from LSU and works in secondary education as an administrator and a cheerleading coach. Brittney and Jeremy have three boys, Connor {Nov 2012}, Parker {Nov 2014}, and Ryan {May 2018}. Brittney is a big baby-making, food allergy fighting, NICU surviving mom. Though she grew up surrounded by hairbows, pom poms, and lots of pink, Brittney now embraces being a boy mom. She loves raising her three boys and learning all about superheroes, baseball, and the pain of stepping on a lego when barefoot. In her kid-free time she enjoys working on craft projects, getting lost in a good book, and watching Grey's Anatomy.
