With school districts across the greater Houston area cancelling school for the next couple of weeks, we have compiled a list of free student meals in the area. {This is a working list and we plan to add to it as information changes – let us know if we are missing any local school districts!}

Local Organizations ::

If you feel so inclined to help those that may need it the most during these stressful times, Kids Meals and Lunches of Love are two nonprofits in the area that serve meals to school-age children and their families. Both organizations are looking for volunteers, lunch bag decorating, donations, etc. Contact these organizations directly if you are in need of meals. The Houston Food Bank has also listed some resources here.

Gallery Furniture and Mattress Mack are offering free meals for kids and seniors every day from 7am-8pm.

The City of Houston is offering free meals at these locations Monday through Friday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The meals include lunch and a snack and are available for children and teens up to the age 18.

School Districts ::

Aldine ISD ::

Aldine ISD Child Nutrition Services will be providing free meals for Aldine ISD students. Child Nutrition staff will offer Grab and Go breakfast and a hot lunch via curbside service at select campuses. Students 18 and under must be present to receive meals. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch will be served 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meals will be located at the front of each school. Updated information can be found here.

Aldine ISD meal services

Clear Creek ISD::

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, CCISD will be offering drive-through meals on weekdays only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parents can drive up to the front entrance of the campuses below to receive a meal for each child that is present in the vehicle. This service is free to any child 18 years and younger. Onsite dining will not be available.

Cleveland ISD ::

Student Meals and Homework Packets offered each Monday at 2 Locations {CMS and Montebello Park} from 9am to 11am. Meals will be offered on Thursdays at both locations starting at 9:00 until 11:00. For more information, click here.

Conroe ISD ::

Conroe ISD will continue distributing meals to students on Tuesday, March 31, and Thursday, April 2, from 10 AM – 1 PM. Students do not have to be present to receive the meals. Curbside distribution will continue to be at Austin Elementary, Caney Creek High School, Conroe High School, Grand Oaks High School, Hauke High School, Knox Junior High, Oak Ridge High School, The Woodlands College Park High School, The Woodlands High School, and Washington Junior High. To promote social distancing, meals will be placed in the trunks of vehicles if an interior trunk release is available. Updated information can be found here.

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD ::

  • Breakfast and lunch may be picked up between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
  • Meals are available for children 18 years and younger meals at any CFISD school listed; this is not dependent on where the student is enrolled.
  • See curbside service pick-up procedures (effective 3/30/20).

Schools available for curbside meals: Anthony MS, Arnold MS, Bane ES, Bleyl MS, Cy Creek HS, Cy Lakes HS, Cy Park HS, Cy Ridge HS, Cy Springs HS, Danish ES, Francone ES, Frazier ES, Goodson MS, Holbrook ES, Horne ES, Kahla MS, Kirk ES, Langham Creek HS, Thornton MS.

East Chambers ISD ::

EC is still offering free meals for all kids under the age of 18. You must have them with you. Drive-thru pickup available outside the Dome Cafeteria/Shelter. 7:15-10:00  We will serve a hot breakfast and a cold lunch.  11:00-1:00 we will serve a cold breakfast and a hot lunch.  4:30-5:30 we will serve a hot supper.  Click here for updated information.

Goose Creek ISD ::

Each child age 18 and under will receive two bags of food. Goose Creek CISD staff will hand out the food from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on weekdays. The 19 locations include: Alamo, Ashbel Smith, Austin, Bañuelos, Bowie, Carver, Clark, Crockett, Harlem, Highlands, Lamar, San Jacinto and Travis elementaries; Cedar Bayou, Gentry and Horace Mann junior schools and Goose Creek Memorial, Lee and Sterling high schools. Fort Bend ISD ::

Starting Monday, March 16, Fort Bend ISD will be offering Grab and Go meals at no cost to anyone 18 and under and to students with disabilities without regards to age, at 11 campuses from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m daily, Monday through Friday. Children do not need to be enrolled in Fort Bend ISD to get free breakfast and lunch, but all children will need to be present in order to pick up the meals. Updated information can be found here.

Katy ISD::

School breakfast and lunches will be served at the campuses listed below from 9:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020.   Katy area children ages 0 to 18 are eligible and may pick up a breakfast and lunch at one of the designated locations.  Children do not need to be an enrolled Katy ISD student.  The meals will be provided in a “grab and go” style outside of the cafeteria near the covered walkway where buses pickup and drop off students.  Updated information can be found here.

  • Mayde Creek Elementary (last day of service at this site is March 27; service to transition to Mayde Creek HS)

  • Paetow High School

Lamar ISD::

Beginning Monday, March 30, the Lamar CISD Child Nutrition Department will begin passing out lunch as well as breakfast for the following day. Updated information can be found here. 

We will offer lunch daily from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday – Friday and children will receive one lunch and one breakfast.

We hope this will help the community comply with the stay-at-home order while still receiving necessary meals.

Meals will be distributed at the following school sites:

  • Beasley Elementary: 7511 Avenue J, Beasley, TX 77417
  • Briscoe Junior High: 4300 FM 723, Richmond, TX 77406
  • Fulshear High School: 9302 Charger Way, Fulshear, TX 77441
  • George Ranch High School: 8181 FM 762 Rd, Richmond, TX 77469
  • Lamar Consolidated High School: 4606 Mustang Avenue, Rosenberg, TX 77471
  • Seguin ECC: 605 Mabel St., Richmond, TX 77469
  • Terry High School: 5500 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471
  • Kendleton Park and Ride: FM 2919, Kendleton, TX

These meals will be available for free for anyone 18 and under regardless of what school they attend. No paperwork is required. Children must be present for meals to be provided. Meals will be provided based on the number of children present.

This program will be solely for the pick-up of meals, and meals will not be consumed on-site. We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the school site and utilizing social distancing once meals have been distributed. Individuals will not be permitted to enter any campus.

All food will be distributed near the bus ramp at all locations.

Spring ISD::

Spring ISD will offer free student meals via curbside, take-home service! Families will be able to pick up their meals at select Spring ISD campuses between 8:00 and 11:00 AM.

Tomball ISD::

Please make sure and provide your student’s ID# upon pick-up. If you do not know your student’s ID#, we will assist you. Non-TISD students under the age of 18 can receive meals, but they must be present.
Menu items are at the mercy of the supply and subject to change during the COVID pandemic. Items will be Grab & Go style breakfast and lunch. See photos for an idea of menu items.

We are continuously updating this list of free student meals as new information arises. As we have seen in the past, we are #HOUSTONstrong and will come out of this pandemic stronger.
