Friday Favorites:: Edition 4

Houston Moms "Friday Favorites:: A Weekly Glance at Our Favorite Things" #houstonmoms #houstonmomsblog #momsaroundhoustonHappy Friday folks! What does that even mean anymore? Friday has lost some of it’s excitement and relief it once held. Maybe one of my Friday Favorites will spark some of that Fri-Yay spunk back in you!

Instagram Account to Follow

In the throws of parenting a toddler like me? {If not you can skip this section} My daughter is almost three and she has already entered into the threenager years. Two was a piece of cake. We are a few weeks away from three and I am scared. I am not even sure how I came across their page but the brilliant women at @biglittlefeelings on Instagram have saved my sanity. I visit the page daily, sometimes multiple times a day, depending on what mood my daughter is in that day. When she goes into her calming corner we have to calm her emotions and think about alternative decisions, mommy goes into her own timeout and scrolls through this page trying to memorize phrases to repeat back to her. They also have some very encouraging words for parents as well and their content is extremely relatable and easy to integrate.

Beauty Product

Let’s be honest, keeping up with my looks hasn’t been on the top of my priority list the past six months. I get presentable from shoulders up most days, if I have to be on camera. Makeup has become minimal, especially the longer we have been at home. Because of this I did start having a peaked interest in my skin and realized I should give it more attention. I am in my later 30s and time is starting to creep in and while I am comfortable with aging, I also want to take care of my skin. Enter in the mask of all masks:: No7 Serum Boost Face Mask Sheet at Target. There are three different kinds. While I love all of them my favorite is the Lift and Luminate Triple Action Serum Boost Face Mask Sheet, as I feel it does the most tightening and lifting and it feels like it lasts awhile. I have been using these masks a couple of times a week for a few months and my skin has gotten more hydrated, less noticeable wrinkles and tighter. For $5.99! Go Target!

Clothing Item I Can’t Go Without

Along the same lines with looks and makeup, does anyone wear real pants anymore? Joggers have become life for me {no I am not jogging in them, this is a judge free zone here} and I have found some amazingly comfy ones at Old Navy that are super soft, breathable knit material. They are sold out in my favorite Dark Ivy color, but they have other select colors still in stock. {Note also that they come in Petite, Regular, and Tall. Hallelujah!} In fact I am wearing them as I type this. And lucky for you they are currently on sale! Grab some, you won’t regret it. #twinning

To Help You Wind Down

To say 2020 has been stressful is an understatement. Give me all the things to relax. Lavender being one of my favorites. Not only is this cute boutique store have the name Lavender in it with lots of cute clothes {lavenderwillow.com}, but they carry an exceptionally high quality Lavende Lavender Linen Spray paired with eucalyptus oil that I have been spraying my bed down nightly with and it has been helping both me and my little one sleep better. And 10% of all of their sales goes to an animal emergency fund for animals who are in desperate need for help. You get relaxed and they get help, win, win!

Care Package To Send

While everything is virtual and we continue to social distance, getting mail is more exciting than ever, enter the Happy Box. The name itself screams joy and giving this customizable care package may be even more fun than receiving it with options ranging from cute stickers to throw back butterfly hair clips and candy necklaces to more sophisticated drink related and spa and relaxation items. If you want to be more patriotic with election time or send a treat, this place has something for everyone. And BONUS a special touch:: they include a handwritten card! So for all my friends and family, or anyone who just feels like a random act of kindness, I’ll be waiting for mine!
