Get the Summer Calendar Out and Put O Athletik On It!

While this is a sponsored post, all thoughts are proudly our own.

I see you, Momma. I see you with the Summer Calendar out, already filling up the dates to make sure your kids have the best summer of their lives. I see you pinning ideas and planning family vacations. I’m right there with you, making sure I have the right amount of summer fun and mommy-sanity. Summer Camps are a great way to get your kids out of your house and out of your hair for a hot minute while you take a shower or eat a meal in peace. I try to find a balance between fun camps, swim lessons, vacations, and the all-important chill time. One of my biggest goals of the summer is to get the kids off the couch and away from the screens!

I also use the summer to try new things. I introduce them to new activities and new sports to gauge their interest in the long term. A GREAT place to do that is a fitness center that caters to different activities and levels, like O Athletik in the Heights. O Athletik has some really cool kids-centered classes year-round, like Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Yoga, and Wrestling.

They also host summer camps! Their camps are designed to improve sport specific skills and to create more well-rounded, confident, and disciplined athletes. At these 3-day Clinics, your young athlete will participate in specialized training where they will learn sports skills, fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship while reinforcing the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Your young athletes will also learn valuable anti-bullying and leadership skills they will carry on throughout their lives. These programs will bring out the best in your young athlete.

It is so important for our kiddos to lay the foundation of an active lifestyle. It’s so much easier for them to sit on the couch {same, right}, so our kids need that fun push to build strong bones and muscles. I love looking for ways to keep my kids active and improve their cardiovascular fitness, BUT as we all know it’s so much better when someone else teaches them new skills. Our kids lead stressful little lives and working out can help reduce their stress and make them more relaxed. We also need to boost their confidence and self esteem, and that’s what O Athletik strives for. Not to mention, signing them up for these camps automatically means less fighting with their siblings. #goals, am I right??

O Athletik‘s goal is to lay that important foundation and to make your child a better human. Nothing can be better than that. While you get some quiet time {or get your own work out done in this gym!}, they get their heads out of the phones and computers, out of your house, and getting active.

So, while you have the Summer Calendar 2019 out, pencil in pen in the O Athletik camp for your kiddos.

She has a Bachelors in theology and political science from Texas Lutheran University and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University. She and her husband Greg met in 2010 through Match.com and fell in love on their first date. They married exactly one year later and have fought lovingly and constantly since. They have two amazingly brilliant girls, Kaitlyn {June 2013} and Elizabeth {June 2015} who Jen stays home with during the day. When Jen is not curled in a little ball rocking back and forth with Peppa Pig on in the background, she can be found crafting with her Silhouette and/or binge watching The Office for the millionth time. Jen has an uncanny ability to be comfortable in almost any situation put in front of her, thanks to growing up in politics and on the debate team. Before having kids of her own, she had the opportunity to help other kids through teaching, youth ministry, and generally being a helpful, kind soul.
