Houston Area Splash Pads

Inside the Loop

{Evelyn’s Park Conservancy} – Newly opened in June of 2022, Evelyn’s Park Splash N’ Play section of Phase 2 is “nestled on 5 acres of green space in Bellaire, Texas.” It offers several ground sprayers for cooling off after enjoying some play time on their unique playground complete with integrated climbing, sand and water play areas. Plenty of shaded and uncovered seating, Evelyn’s Park also offers its own cafe, wildflower hill and walking trails.

Located At: 4400 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, TX 77401

{Jaycee Park} – This park is a favorite for Heights and Garden Oak residents! The splash pad is equipped with timed spouts and over sized butterflies and leaves as well as benches for parents. Additional selling points are that it has easily accessible parking and plenty of shade trees. The adjacent playground is a great option if you have a child that isn’t in the mood for a spray zone, as well as 1/3-mile walking trail, basketball and tennis courts.

Located At: 1300 Seamist Drive, Houston, Texas 77008

{Levy Park} – This Houston area splash pad is great for children who don’t like surprises as the water sprays in more of a mist and a shower than a dumped bucket. The Children’s Park itself offers non-traditional play features such as a seven-foot-wide slide, hill slide, climbing sphere, lighted tunnels, dancing chimes and plenty of seating.

Located At: 3801 Eastside Street, Houston, Texas 77098

{Gateway Fountain at Discovery Green} – This splash pad is one of the most popular attractions in Discovery Green and, dare I say, the entire city during hot summer months. A fanciful fountain and “lively jets atop a gently sloping granite surface” make this the perfect place to cool off in the heart of Houston.

Located At: 1500 McKinney St., Houston, Texas 77010

{Kathrine McGovern Water Play Park at Houston Zoo} – Free with your Houston Zoo admission, this 13,500 square foot “hot weather oasis includes a friendly and colorful sea serpent, a tall ‘fill and spill’ water tree, and a variety of ‘water weavers’, fountains, jets and misters.” The perfect place to cool off after a ride on the carousel or a tumble with the goats in the Children’s Zoo. *Note: Closed for maintenance until summer 2023*

Located At: 6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, Texas 77030

West Houston

{Constellation Field} – If you’re planning a family day to watch the Sugar Land Space Cowboys play ball, be sure to pack swim suits or an extra change of clothes!
