Hair Happy Hour :: A Guide to Houston Blow Dry Bars

Last week at our Houston Moms Blog contributor photoshoot, a bunch of us gals were discussing our love of a great blowout and our lack of talent {and time} to do our own.  You see, a handful of us got blowouts that Sunday and were all surprised to learn that this has become a regular “thing” among moms and working gals alike.  Have a great blowout done on Sunday and be set for the majority of the week with the assistance of your favorite dry shampoo.  What a time saver, right?

With the option to go to a “blow dry bar” rather than a full-service salon, it could not be more simple to get scheduled, styled, and pampered.  Some of these blow dry bars offer makeup and other beauty services and most are open 7 days a week, unlike traditional salons who often close Sunday and Monday.  The stylists are pros at making your chosen do last through Houston humidity and will show you how to extend your look for much longer than a day.  Check out each salon’s menu of services for the various styles and add-ons available, like a braid or repairing hair mask.

Originally, I scoffed at how expensive this would get by going weekly, but learned there are memberships at many of these salons allowing it to be more affordable.  One might even give up their monthly mani/pedi visits or morning Starbucks runs in order to have your hair washed, styled, and looking fab all week.
