Houston Moms Blog is Thankful {2014 Edition}

ThanksgivingAs you gather around the table today with your friends and your family, we hope that each of you take a minute to count your blessings — both big and small.  And we also hope you know that we are doing the same at each of our table’s too.  After all, we have so, SO, SO much to be thankful for here at Houston Moms Blog.  We have an incredible team full of some of the most inspirational and amazing moms we know.  We have built a community {both online and off} that is filled with support, resources, and encouragement.  We have a fabulous line-up of sponsors who we truly believe in with all of our heart and soul.  And most of all…we have you.  Yes, YOU!  Our faithful followers, our loyal readers, our reason for doing what it is that we do.  We are so very grateful for each and every one of you, and we are so honored to do this thing called motherhood with all of you by our side.

We may have said it last Thanksgiving, but we can’t help but say it again today too.  {Hey, who are we kidding?  We will probably say it every year from here on out!}  It is only going to get better from here!!!

And now without further adieu, here is a compilation of what is topping each of our thankful lists this year…

Amy ::

I am incredibly thankful for my husband who works tirelessly to help support our family, and my strong-willed, spunky two year old. I’m also thankful for our troops and first responders who never think twice about putting their lives on the line to our benefit. I am thankful for a roof over our heads and food on our table, for our good health, and the love of family and friends.

Andrea ::

I am thankful for my supportive husband who is also one amazing daddy! I am thankful for my two perfectly opposite girls who have taught me how to be a mom and a better person. I thank my family and friends for doing life with us and making even the smallest things meaningful and fun.

Becky ::

I am grateful for this new little life growing in me — I wasn’t even sure if I wanted a third, and I’m so in love with this one already! I’m thankful for 7 years with my guy — years 3-5 were tough, but the past two get sweeter and sweeter! I’m thankful for all God is doing with the Advent study I wrote and that He gave me the courage to do it! I’m also thankful for HGTV, Instagram, sweet tea, girls’ nights out, nap time, sweet snuggles, apple cider, and all things pumpkin.

Breonna ::

This year I’m particularly thankful for stress-free{ish} wedding planning and honeymooning. I’m thankful for friends and family that go above and beyond to help.

Chelsea ::

Of course, I’m so thankful for my amazing husband, the sweetest son a mom could ask for, and all of my family and friends. But lately I’ve been especially thankful for all of the doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers who offer knowledge, support, healing and sometimes an encouraging hug to those who need it. And Starbucks drive-thrus too!

Heather ::

I’m thankful for a hardworking, caring husband who loves me unconditionally. For a snuggly, fiesty toddler who keeps me on my toes. And for the love and support of our wonderful families and friends.

Jana ::

After a hard first year, I am thankful for all of the progress my little one has made and all the prayers God answered. I am thankful for my tender-hearted 3 year old who is the sweetest big sister, my servant-hearted husband, our sweet family, and so many dear friends.

Jenn ::

This year I’m grateful for a full house. For this house is full of giggles, tears, snuggles, diapers, planes, trains, and automobiles, kid-sized snacks, learning, playing, struggles, joys, and growth. And I’m more than grateful for the man by my side walking with me and the God who brought him to me.

Kelly ::

Of course, I am so very thankful for the many blessings that fill my life {my husband, my children, my family and friends…}.  But this Thanksgiving, I am also incredibly thankful for the challenges I have experienced too.  It is only when you have persevered through the darkest of days that you can truly enjoy the sunshine on your face.  And for that — I am thankful.

Lauren ::

I’m thankful for my 6 little miracles, watching them grow and learn, and hearing “I love you Mommy.” For my husband who could not be a better partner in this adventure and Daddy to our kids. For our friends and family who provide unending support and love and somehow don’t get sick of all of us.

Meagan ::

For my husband who works to the bone to provide for our family and takes on nightly bathtime duties over 300 days of the year. You are my best friend, my love, my life.For my children who show me daily what the definition of Grace is. For my HMB family who has become just that in 9 short months. For family and friends who overlook all my flaws and see my heart.

Melissa ::

I am so grateful for a hard working spouse who leads us selflessly day after day. I am always thankful for healthy girls. I can’t let Thanksgiving pass without giving thanks for Sharpies, Chick-Fil-A, and Diet Coke.

Michelle ::

I’m thankful for my husband and son and all the memories they have given me. I am also thankful for the opportunity to chase my dreams and for my husband letting me sleep in on the weekends. I’m thankful for my family and the hugs and kisses my sweet boys give me on a daily basis. I’m just thankful for it all, honestly!

Misty ::

I’m thankful for this perfectly imperfect life I’ve been given. Blessed by a husband who loves me WELL, kids who make waking up each morning FUN {most of the time-haha!}, sweet friends and family, and a God who loves me, in spite of me. His mercies are NEW each MORNING! What more could I ask for!?!?

Sarah ::

I’m thankful for beautiful healthy babies, an amazing husband, and supportive family and friends that surround us with unconditional love!

Tiffanie ::

I’m thankful for the two little brown eyes and the set of blue eyes that look up at me daily and call me mama. Beyond thankful for my husband who loves me just as hard today as he did the day we said our vows.

Happy Thanksgiving — from us to you!!!

Kelly is the founder of Houston Moms Blog and has lived in this beautiful city nearly all of her life. She has a degree in education from Texas State University and was honored to teach special education for eight years to some of the cutest little kiddos you could ever meet. While teaching, Kelly met Cody – a tall drink of water and country boy to the core – and together, they fell in love, got married, and decided to start a family. In March 2011, they welcomed Hayes into the world, a silly but smart little boy with a story you have to read to believe. And in April 2013, their family was complete with the addition of Hadley, a super gregarious and oh-so-cute baby girl. Now, Kelly devotes her days to caring for her own little ones…and would not trade this new job of hers for the world! In her not-so-spare time, Kelly loves meeting up with her girlfriends for margaritas, failing miserably at Pinterest projects, and exploring this big old city with her two favorite little side-kicks in tow.
