Love Lives Here :: A Hurricane Harvey Reflection Video, One Year Later

It seems almost surreal that we are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of the day Hurricane Harvey devastated so many parts of Houston and coastal areas. While at times it seems like we all endured the storm years ago, many of us can be brought back to those days and weeks of struggle in an instant. And for so many, “normal” isn’t here yet :: houses are still being rebuilt {or torn down}, difficult financial times continue, and children and adults alike are still experiencing waves of grief and fear any time a thunderstorm approaches.

This week at Houston Moms Blog, we will be taking this time to reflect on Harvey, share our stories {and yours}, plus offer tips and comfort as we enter the most active part of the hurricane season. As such, in partnership with our amazing contributors, HMB has put together a reflection video :: Hurricane Harvey, One Year Later. We hope you will be encouraged by how far our amazing city has come and will be proud to share with your friends and family members…because as we know all too well, #HoustonStrong is not just a cute hashtag. It’s truly defines exactly what our city, and our people, are.

And as we’ve all seen over the past year, Houstonians know that “Love Lives Here.”

After swimming back to Texas following Hurricane Katrina, Matt and Meagan fell in love with the Houston area and now couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Following several years of infertility, their miracle twins Ryan and Quinn were born in June of 2010.
