While we have partnered with Legacy Health on this post, all thoughts and opinions are our own.

While Houston and the surrounding areas are still under a “Stay Home” order, many of us might be antsy about doctor appointments and checkups. Thankfully our medical community continues to surpass our expectations and has solutions for our medical needs with telehealth and telemedicine appointments. What is telehealth and telemedicine? Legacy Community Health is offering phone calls or video conferencing calls with real doctors, specifically pediatric focused appointments {telemedicine}, as well as virtual behavioral health counseling {telehealth} for children and young adults.

Pediatric Sick Visits

While COVID-19 is getting the bulk of the attention right now, that’s not all that is going around. Thanks to the pollen, our kids are sneezing and coughing, still getting sick and needing medical attention. It’s a bit of a toss up about whether we are comfortable physically going to our doctor’s office {if they are even open}, so telemedicine is the way to go.

This service is done by the same amazing doctors that you can see at the Legacy Community Health clinics and is available in English and Spanish. They are also taking new patients from newborns to young adults.

Pediatric Behavioral Health – Telehealth Counseling for Children

If your child is having a hard time dealing with what is going on and needing extra support, Legacy’s licensed professional counselors are available through telehealth services. Their highly caring pediatric therapists are making counseling available through a smartphone or computer, bringing their expert care to your home.

Their behavioral health therapists are available to treat anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and more. If you have an issue, get a telehealth appointment to see if they can help. They are treating children of all ages with English and Spanish speaking counseling available.

Legacy accepts most HMOs/PPOs, Medicaid and CHIP. Legacy also utilizes a sliding scale fee to lower the cost of services for uninsured patients.

We no longer have to sit at home and worry about if taking the kids to the doctor will be counterintuitive or not. Telehealth and telemedicine appointments are available to help us answer our medical questions.
