{Recap} HMB Night Out @ Rice Village

If you follow any of the Houston Moms Blog contributors on social media, you might recall that we recently had a night out for our annual team party. {See Also :: We just like to keep the holiday season going, so we celebrated in January!} Our destination this year was Rice Village, and they truly rolled out the red carpet for us. We were given the VIP treatment the entire evening, and it was such a fun night out on the town!

After such a perfect night, we knew we couldn’t keep these not-so-hidden gems a secret from all of you.  So grab your best girlfriends, find a sitter for the kids, and enjoy some diaper-free fun too.  We can’t recommend Rice Village enough for all things eats, drinks, shopping, and pampering.  So check out our quick recap below, and then be sure to recreate this fun night with your besties too…

1st Stop :: Apps & Drinks

We started the evening with happy hour at Nao Ramen House for appetizers and drinks. Nao {pronounced “now”} has a really fun atmosphere and delicious food that’s packed with flavor {and nao, it’s not just ramen!}. It was easy for our large group to mingle, and since it was our first stop of the evening, we had lots of catching up to do! Their staff kept our drinks topped off and our plates full from the moment we arrived. It was a great way to begin our night out!

2nd Stop :: Shopping & Pampering

Our next stop was a group favorite – shopping and pampering! Lily Rain was our first destination, and if you haven’t been there, it’s an absolute must next time you’re in Rice Village. This store has it all… Trendy clothes, accessories, shoes, and plenty of unique gifts and home décor. I seriously could spend an hour in there and still not see everything they have! Next, we shopped at Ann Taylor to freshen up our 9-5 wardrobes and pick up the perfect date night accessories! They spoiled us with all the desserts while we shopped {and discounts too!}. Then, we were pampered at Origins with facials, eyebrow waxing, hand/arm massages, and giveaways. Oh, and a little exclusive shopping too! Origins is such a great place because they truly care about you from head to toe, and their staff is so knowledgeable and friendly.

3rd Stop :: Dinner & Drinks

After all that shopping, it was time for dinner, and these mamas looked no further than Little Liberty. We were in for a treat with a sample of some of their most popular dishes – salmon, crab, tuna, and deviled eggs. We were really in for a surprise when they brought out their pecan pie milkshake shots. Oh my! Their house-made pecan pie and vanilla bean ice cream is simply delicious, and after a small sample, we were all craving more!

4th Stop :: Coffee & Dessert

Our final stop was CoCo Crepes, Waffle, & Coffee for dessert and coffee, as we were definitely ready for more sweets! They brought out their top treats – including the cinnamon sugar crepe, which was the way to my heart! We all feasted on their signature Dulce de Leche {crepe with bananas or strawberries and toasted almonds} and a sinful chocolate crepe too. It truly doesn’t get better than topping off a moms’ night with crepes and coffee, my friends!

Brittney F
Originally from Louisiana, Brittney has called Houston home for nearly all her life. Brittney graduated from Houston Baptist University where she was a member of Phi Mu and a four-year cheerleader. It didn’t take long after graduation for her to meet her husband Jeremy on the sand volleyball courts at Memorial Park. She jokes that when marrying Jeremy, she also married LSU because she tied the knot with the most passionate Tiger football fan. Many weekends in the fall, they can be found in the shadows of Tiger Stadium at their big family tailgating party. Brittney has a Master's Degree from LSU and works in secondary education as an administrator and a cheerleading coach. Brittney and Jeremy have three boys, Connor {Nov 2012}, Parker {Nov 2014}, and Ryan {May 2018}. Brittney is a big baby-making, food allergy fighting, NICU surviving mom. Though she grew up surrounded by hairbows, pom poms, and lots of pink, Brittney now embraces being a boy mom. She loves raising her three boys and learning all about superheroes, baseball, and the pain of stepping on a lego when barefoot. In her kid-free time she enjoys working on craft projects, getting lost in a good book, and watching Grey's Anatomy.
