Reconnecting with My Husband in the Texas Hill Country

We are excited to once again partner with the Hyatt Regency Lost Pine Resort and Spa. If you're looking for the perfect summer getaway, you're going to love their special offer just for you!

To say these last few years have been challenging is putting it mildly. Between raising two fiercely independent daughters, not getting along with my mother-in-law, and my husband traveling for weeks and months at a time, I have hardly had a second to myself. I love being a stay-at-home-mom, but man, sometimes I need a break. If you are like me, you start feeling guilty about taking a break by yourself when you know your partner needs one too. This past week I volunteered at Vacation Bible School {in the 3 year old class!} and this week is “Nana Camp” :: the week in the summer my mom takes off work to take care of all of her grandkids, which means I stay there and help her wrangle 6 kids {Ages 1-8}. YIKES!! Y’all, my girl Elizabeth put this into words better than my tired mommy brain can :: I am burned out

After having a long discussion with my mom and putting all 6 kids to bed, I called my husband {who’s at home this week, still working while we are “playing”}, my super, supportive, amazing, and exhausted husband, who constantly tells me to take time for myself and selflessly cares for us, works overtime, and travels, told me he needed a break too. We started throwing away the guilt, and planned a road trip together. We have a “date night jar” and pulled a yellow Popsicle stick {which are our road trip sticks} and it said :: Lost Pines Resort

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort for the WIN!

I have heard great things of this place from HMB’s co-owner, Meagan. She RAVED about Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop and it’s been on our “Road Trip To Do List” for FOREVER! Nestled in the Hill Country of Texas, less 30 miles from Austin, Lost Pines is a rustic, 400 acre resort and spa that is a quick road trip from Houston, but is a true getaway from the hustle and busyness of city and suburban mom-life. My sweet husband and I will have plenty of activities to choose from on our trip, but honestly, we will probably spend much of our time just enjoying nature and reconnecting with each other.

Right now Lost Pines is having a huge summer sale through their “3 Day Summer” package. If you stay 2 nights Sunday through Thursday, you’ll get the 3rd night 50% off! Our romantic getaway will help us relax and reconnect amongst the lush green surroundings. I personally cannot wait to float around the lazy river while my husband hits a few rounds at the Wolfdancer Golf Course. I know I could bring the kids and have a great family trip, but that’s for next time.  The kids would love the s’mores around the firepit, the fireworks, the swimming pool, but this trip is about Mommy and Daddy time.
